Program Statement

The Miami SAHE Ph.D. program operates on the assumption that student learning is a complex phenomenon in which dimensions of students' intellectual, identity, and interpersonal development are interdependent. Our view of an effective educational environment involves academic and student affairs educators working as partners to educate students. The Ph.D. program prepares Student Affairs educators to create environments that will provide for this type of diverse interaction and education to occur for all students. We prepare graduates to effectively transform higher education and student affairs practice to promote learning, intercultural maturity, self-authorship, and social engagement.

Our program admits new cohorts every other year. Our next admission cycle is for enrollment in fall 2017. Preferred deadline: December 1, 2016.
