The Master of Science in Higher Education (HIED) at the University of Kentucky is a flexible professional degree program with options of focus in Higher Education Policy or Student Affairs. The program serves those contemplating careers in higher education or already working in a college or university, as well as those interested in pursuing the study of higher education at the doctoral level. This degree program is compatible with our Graduate Certificate in International Education for students interested in comparative higher education and the Graduate Certificate in Research Methods in Education for students interested in building a competitive application for careers in higher education. This 31 credit hour program can be completed in 18 months and includes internship opportunities (not required).
