Chris CaswellProgram Statement
The HESA program at UVM was founded in 1970 and values its place and reputation as one of the founding programs of our field. The program places strong emphasis on developing strong administrative skills and knowledge of student development theory in the context of an inclusive community and rigorous two-year curriculum. We are committed to developing professionals who will bring a social justice perspective to their work, who will demonstrate integrity and compassion, and who will value their ties to The Vermont Connection, an alumnx network of talented professionals throughout higher education. While our program enrolls a full-time cohort of 13-15 students each year who finish in two years, our curriculum accommodates fully-employed and other part-time students who, with careful planning, should be able to complete the program in three years.
